“People First of Henry County” Walk-A-Thon

A walk-a-thon is a fun and fit activity for everyone to help raise money for a great cause.
Our goal is to help People First of Henry County raise money to offer special socials throughout the year for families with special needs children and adults. It allows families to participate and be active in free social opportunities that they would otherwise not be a part of. Some socials offered in the past have included: a Special Needs Easter Egg Hunt, a Fall Festival on Halloween. Family Bowling Night, Game night including Bingo for prizes, and they have provided Christmas gifts for several special needs families. With your donation, People First will be able to offer more of these activities for our special needs community. All donations are tax-deductible. People First is a non-profit 501 (c) 3. Rules
1. You may start collecting pledges as soon as you receive your packet. Inside the packet are pledge sheets and the envelope is to keep your pledge money in.
2. Pledges may be made by anyone. Any amount helps!
3. Each person making a pledge should write their own name, total pledge, cash or check and date paid. Collect the pledge in advance as they sign up and keep all cash and checks in the envelope to turn in.
4. On Walk-A-Thon day, Saturday, August 1, the walk begins at 8:00 AM sharp. We will meet at the Administrative Offices of Henry County Board of Education, located at 33 N. Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough starting at 7:30 am. It is a 1.2 mile course from the Administrative Offices to the McDonough Square and back.
5. Please return your pledge sheets and envelope with money to Ricky Craig by Wednesday, July 29. Any other pledges made after that date will be collected on the day of the walk.
6. We walk rain or shine. Participants are encouraged to wear hats and sunscreen if it’s sunny or bring rain gear if it’s rainy.
7. The organizers of this event have chosen not to give out t-shirts or prizes for most money collected, etc. They have chosen to let 100% of all money collected go to People First to help with events!
